“Penumbra” will be playing in sixteen channels at the New York City Electroacoustic Music Festival in Concert 9 on Monday 13th June. The concert is at the Experimental Theatre in the Abron Arts Center 466 Grand St, New York, NY 10002 USA.
Sadly, I can’t make it to the concert myself.
I’m pleased to announce that I will be playing my recent acousmatic piece, “Penumbra” at the Electroacoustic Wales concert in Powis Hall, Bangor University on Wednesday 6th January 2016. The concert is part of the BFE/RMA Research Students’ Conference and this premiere will be performed in sixteen-channel surround sound. Concert starts at 8:00 pm.
I will playing “crunch!”, a recent work for multichannel audio, at the Electroacoustic Wales performance tomorrow night. The programme is entitled Dedans Dehors and features works Bernard Parmegiani and François Bayle, with new music from Alex Bailey, me, Andrew Lewis, Andrew Hooker, Louise Rossiter and Steven Tunnicliffe.
On this occasion, “crunch!” will be performed using a 16 channel 3 dimensional speaker array.
The concert is in Powis Hall, LL57 2DG Bangor at 19:30 GMT.
Ellie Lighton and I will be playing my piece, “Exploration I” for flute and laptop as part of her recital in Powis Hall, Bangor University at 8:00 pm tomorrow night (20/11/15).
“November”, my one minute contribution to the 60×60 Surround Mix curated by Hans Tammen, is to be played (along with the other fifty-nine pieces) in New York on Sunday as part of the Vox Novus Festival. The Festival is a celebration of fifteen years of Vox Novus projects including Composer’s Voice, 60×60, Fifteen-Minutes-of-Fame, Circuit Bridges, and xMV. It’s great to be included in this.
The 60×60 Surround Sound Mix will be performed at Spectrum, 121 Ludlow, Second Floor, New York, New York 10002 on Sunday October 25, 2015 at 3:00 pm.
My two pieces using the “Exploration” Max patch will be performed at 2:30 on 27th August 2015 as part of Flute Fest at Bangor University. Ellie Lighton will be playing flute for “Exploration I” and Hephzibah Leafe will play clarinet on “Exploration II”. I’m really looking forward to playing the two pieces together!
I will be playing “Only Now” in concert at Dance Limerick, John’s Square Limerick, Ireland on 12th August at 8:00 pm as part of ISSTC 2015.
My new piece for Clarinet and Laptop will have its premiere outing at the Electroacoustic Wales Concert on Thursday 23rd April 2015. It’s an improvisational duet between Clarinet and Laptop using much the same generative software as I wrote for “Exploration” – my flute piece played at INTER/actions in Bangor last year.
The piece will be performed by Hephzibah Leafe on Clarinet and me on Laptop and iPad.
The gig is at Reichel Hall, Bangor University starting at 20:00.
I have a gig on Thursday, January 8th playing “In Flight” on the Bristol University Loudspeaker Orchestra as part of the Royal Musical Association’s postgraduate conference. The concert starts at 8pm in the Victoria Rooms and is open to the public as well as to conference delegates.
There will be a performance of the 60×60 surround 2014 program, including my piece November, in Seattle on 29th October. The gig is at Jack Straw New Media Gallery, 4261 Roosevelt Way NE in Seattle and it runs from 19:00–20:00 PDT. Entry is free.
